Oh yeah.. my first concert was Skeeter Davis. Anybody remember her. My first rock concert was White Heat at my high skool. This band later became hair metal band Firehouse. My first real arena show was Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour. I was absolutely blown away. Until i saw the band............Metallica. I got my head busted open by a beer bottle but I was not about to leave so I just stayed there with blood running down the back of my head. Cool, just like a rock show should be.

Jimmy Buffett 1986 at Carowinds. I was 14. Have since seen him 22 times and counting. I once saw him on back to back days in Raleigh and then the next weekend in Charlotte. Gotta love Buffett.

1982 - Emerson, Lake, & Powell. It remained the best concert I'd been to until Clapton in 1990.

AC/DC! Fly on the Wall tour! Yngwie Malmsteen opened. I remember my Dad taking me and 3 other guys. He read a book and wore earplugs. He still became a "cool Dad" to all of my friends.

Seems like I saw Ozzy's Ultimate Sin Tour next. A little known band named Metallica opened...

    "Your first concert was..."

so long ago that I can't even remember.

    Springsteen at Ovens Auditorium
    Arlo Guthrie ditto
Jesse Colin Young (and the Youngbloods) ditto

    am I old or what?

Anybody remember a big show at Charlotte Motor Speedway?
early 70's Alice Cooper Allman Brothers Emerson Lake & Palmer
I think it was a 2 day Woodstock wannabee thing

Eric Clapton at the real Charlotte Coliseum (on Independence Blvd)

Todd Rundgren at Kenan Stadium - the warm-up was some unknown band called U2.

    Pink Floyd
    Billy Joel
    Elton John
    Fleetwood Mac
    Ringo's All Stars!
    Traveling Wilburys
    Yes

and I'm sure a few dozen more I'm forgetting...

Kansas, around 1980. I still have all my ticket stubs somewhere. The cost for the concert was $7.50. We had some good acid too (oops did I say that out loud?)

Hey, Piper! Remember those shows in the Old Coliseum? General Admission? I remember getting to the Ozzy show at 4 (got out of school at 3:15). Standing in line for hours. The door would open and it was a mad rush!
