Ozzy is the ultimate lead man.
I don't listen to a lot of STP, but Scott Weiland is one entertaining fucker.
    James Hetfield is metal.
    Marilyn Manson is incredible live.
Dave Grohl was great at CItyFest.

[I like Diane Schuur, a lot too.]

[BTW: I think what's being discussed here is actually solo singers w/band accompaniment of course. Lead singing, per se, is another thing. Although, both solo and lead singing share some of the same qualities, they may or maynot be the same. Lead singing is the art of leading other singers, w/band acc. {'Scuse me for gitting technical... :)} ]

    Exit, stage left..

Also, what we're talking about here, we usta call "front men" back in the old days.

I don't care what Piper says, I still like Jon Anderson of Yes.

    David Clayton-Thomas - Blood, Sweat, & Tears
Michael McDonald - latter '70's Doobie Brothers

Joe Pope of Atlanta Georgia and Archie Bell of Houston Texas and on a side note Archie not only sings but he dances just as good as he walks.

Never liked Dickey as a lead singer, but he's done a great job as the guitarist for them.
