Yet another new DT

we always keep our RFAs. We even kept that limp dick Carstens and he retired before the start of that same season. But he beat a doubleteam one time so that's worth a million.


Anyway, it's amazing how people bag on Hurney for 17 and 90 but have just let the whole run game on defense go. That's the problem I have with what they did this year.

We got guys for Meeks. Corners, rushers. We're 3rd in passing.

But we're 25th against the run, which is partly a matter of circumstance (losing seven games means rushing attempts), but I really thought despite the new defense our focus would be stop the run, stop the run, stop the run.

And we really didn't address that. I'm OK with what we did on 90 and 17. You do what you have to, and you do what your owner tells you to do.

Looks like we have a number of 3-tech guys here next year. If it was up to me, I'd keep Leonard at NT, find a guy better than him, and get rid of the other NTs. It's not quantity we're after, it's quality. We have to come up with a solid run defender in there.

 

if the "we're" you're referring to is the current panthers FO then I think WE are clearly after quantity, NOT quality . .. especially at DT. Seriously, from the time they gave up on Jenkins and acquired Kemo they have shifted to quantity over quality. It seems like another example of Fox & Co delusion/cockiness, "with our superior scheme and coaching we don't have to have any great players at position X Y Z". Maybe Meeks stays after this year and maybe he will press to bring in an upgrade at DT.

I agree with you big time that WE need that upgrade at DT.

 

Said it before, I'll say it again: DT is the new safety.

yeah. 5 and 6. Which each of them have had their moments, but it's basically a two year rental at most. Still, it's hard to criticize given this is the type player we need backing NT and UT anyway.

Now it's just a matter of improving on Kemoeatu and whether or not we can.

 

lenard , tyler, kemo looks pretty good. we have good takles just need to have them stop getting hurt. with pep and our linebackers why can't we get a cordinator that can use them right.

 

they should trade every pick to get Suh from Nebraska. That dude is going to be a star in the NFL.

 

Can we find some other unrealistic trades?
