Anybody still on this? Larry? Normanniner? Vor?

I have this scale at home and it's been pretty good to me despite the fact that EEL has been telling me for weeks that it's off. He weighed himself on a scale at work that is used to weigh the products that need to be shipped. I would just tell him that the scale at work was off. Well, we go to update our registry this weekend and we are picking out scales. He says, "see if this one works". I step on it and realize that i have been tricked into seeing my true weight (10lbs more than what i thought). Now, i have 3 months to lose as much weight as possible. Started this diet yesterday and i already feel nauseous. And it doesn't help that i have a half eaten Caramello bar from Friday sitting in my desk drawer. oh well. i'm determined. Guess it's time to check out these Bubba Burgers you fellas talk about.

All I can say is I feel your pain. I figure spare tires don't go well with a tux. And the SO's stress level is off the charts.

I'm sort of on the atkins diet all the time. I eat some carbs on the weekends.

if you haven't read the book, I'd strongly suggest you do so. I've seen a lot of people think they were doing Atkins but in reality they didn't know what they were doing.

i'll get the book. Read everything that was on the website and printed up all the important stuff. Is their website as informative as the book?

20-25 is the goal. I don't want to diet for 3 months. It will kill me if i have to completely give up margaritas. if i can lose 20 and just stick to a healthy diet from that point on, i think it will be good. I recall Sly saying that for him, Atkins was a stepping stone to a more healthy living.

My parents started Atkins about 2 weeks ago and it is going well for them. They say that they aren't missing the bread and potatoes yet; however, I don't know if I can do it or not. I am planning on giving it a shot starting next Monday, so let me know how your first week goes. My dad did tell me that he felt like complete crap for the first two days, then, he felt like he had more energy.

How about this - instead of using a diet that is known to be very unhealthy for you, why not try exercise and reduced caloric intake?

It's amazing what that will do. Less processed/refined sugar, increased exercise, and overall slight reduction in caloric intake and you'll melt off weight. Atkins is dangerous for your heart - it definitely helps people lose weight, but so does chemotherapy.
