Still No. 1: Bouncing Back Against Shaq

    # Feb. 8, 1992: Duke keeps the No. 1 ranking with a 77-67 road victory over No. 22 LSU, overcoming Shaquille O'Neal’s 25 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Christian Laettner has 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Yea Laettner really dominated Shaq that game. He stopped him from getting a triple double.

I doubt he was guarding him the whole game, and even if he played Center for Duke, everyone knows that he's a small or power forward position. Duke's team that year wasn't all that big. Cherokee Parks was probably the only real big player of worth on that team. Everyone else were power and small forwards like Lang, T. Hill, G. Hill, and Laettner. And if Shaq did guard Laettner, having a double double against a guy about 4 or 5 inches taller than you and as big as Shaq isn't so bad.

"He does not mention Rashad McCants, another North Carolina teammate who would be selected 14th by Minnesota. The Bobcats never considered him. He pulled out of a workout in Charlotte with a hamstring injury, but recovered the next day to workout limp-free for the Los Angeles Clippers. " ~Tom Sorensen
