Rose's improvement as a player is BY FAR the biggest reason for Chicago's increased win total. Not Boozer. Not Thibodeau. It's Rose. That's why he won MVP. no, that means rose's improvement ALONE was not responsible for getting to 62 wins.

the bulls posted identical 41-41 records in each of his first two years despite his improved play. if you don't add a top tier free agent and a top tier coach to that team, i don't see how you could expect them to suddenly be elite.

you seem to not understand that basketball is a team game. boozer on that team makes rose better. before you freak out, let me be clear that i'm not saying rose's improvement this year is because of boozer. i'm saying that having an additional threat on offense relieves the pressure of having rose do all the heavy lifting. it means defenses have to pay attention to boozer and not come over to help and clog the lane. it opens things up and rose can then do more damage.

if you take the same bulls team from last year with the same coach, i don't see how you would expect to win more than 50 games.

and fwiw, rose won mvp basically because the team had the best record, not because of his spectacular play. as mvp's go, his per rating is pretty low. but no change lebron james gets his third in a row this year.
