    Not that I recommend doing it - it's still illegal unless that is what ACTUALLY happened... Software is just like any other product, yet people somehow justify stealing it to themselves when they wouldn't shoplift. I don't get it, other than it's easy.

    Aristotle, in Nicomachean Ethics, talked about the true nature of the good man, and it was partially defined as someone that does good deeds that he knows will not be known about. Seems like people take the reverse path - I'm good as long as I don't get caught doing something bad... But don't go looking on the top shelf of my closet, cuz that's where I hide all of my hardcore mule spanking materials...

    ...and when Microsoft can prove its ethical to charge $200 for a piece of software that cost them $10 to make then I'll change my values.

    Since when do you ask Ford to prove that it's "ethical" to charge $45,000 for an SUV that costs them $20,000 to make? Or Taco Bell to justify that $1.50 for a $.05 cup and $.01 worth of Coke?

    Just because you don't like the price, that doesn't mean you can steal it. I'd have a 60" Plasma in every room if that was the case...

    Regardless, MSFT spends billions developing and supporting that software. The CD and Box it comes in may not cost much to make, but it's all about the IP, BABY!

    Furthermore I've borrowed my friend's Mustang and drove it to the beach.

    I've shared food with a girlfriend at Taco Bell... actualy she ate mine, but that's not the point.

    And I've shared a Coke with a lot of girls in the past... it ain't stealing then.

    or have you drank the pepsi, then regurgitated it and gave it to your girlfriend to "share"?
