Spyro the Dragon. But yeah, you can get them a Lord of the Rings or some other adventure game that you can enjoy and you and they can wander around for quite a while not doing much before the kid gets killed. It's SO MUCH FUN when your kids get old enough to compete with and against you in video games. My 9 year old and I went to a Madden 2005 tournament and both competed last year. He won his first game and I lost mine.

depends on the kid really. my son was able to do those long stupid maze like games at a very young age. it always shocked me when he knew his way around all these rooms to find the bad guys and prizes to be had.

just don't get them grand theft auto: san andreas.

That game is AWESOME!!! Sorry to get off topic, but I had to post it.

On topic... At 4.5 years, how can he get his hands around an Xbox controller? Those things are HUGE.

My just turned 5 year old plays:
    Finding Nemo
    Spiderman (not so good though)
    SW Attack of the clones
SW Lego game (likes this one the best currently)
GT Racer (not so good at it)
NCAA Basketball (scores about10 points a game, but has fun)
    Midway Arcade Classics
