    the even more stupid part is that the flag pole is in play and a ball hit off it, no matter how high up, is not a home run if it lands in the field of play.

    they are just trying to create their own unique quality that some of the older parks genuinely have. I agree its gay as hell, but they arent new either.

    They could have stopped with the train, that is enough.

    hills in the outfield is a pretty old deal in baseball. not sure about flagpoles that are in play.

    i'll agree, the flagpole is stupid. the hill is neat. its a throwback idea.

    thats why I hope this new DC team will be called the Gray's after the Negro league that was in DC back in the early 1900's.

    negro leagues kicked ass. anyone who has never watched "soul of the game" owe themselves checking it out. best baseball movie ever.

    there is a kiosk in the underground in atlanta that sells negro league jerseys, hats, and memorabilia. rs and i got stuck there for like a half hr looking at stuff last summer. the young black girl thanked us as we were walking off. i think we earned some points from her. that stuff fascinates me.
