I don't suppose wp minds the hits on his website. Not sure if he knows about this one.

Anyway, these are all interesting. Our defense may be Del Rio's in name, but it looks more like a Fox defense to me. Lots of blitzes, tight cover 2, 1 gap control responability.

Everyone on the team seems to prefer Fox, at least in this honeymoon period.

The other interesting thing is Williams comments about some of our former players. He makes comments that he wishes we had kept both Hitch and Steve-B. I hve to wonder if he is intimating that more veteran players should be kept and "restructured," since he looks to be on the chopping block.

    Rucker and Williams
    Jordan and Williams

I couldn't help pointing out this bit:

Williams: “Beuerlien would have been cool still”

    Wp28: “Beuerlien?”

Williams: “With this line He would have been awesome.”

    Wp28: “teaching Weinke?”

Williams: “ He’s got a stronger arm then Weinke”

    Wp28: “really”

Williams: “He’s another one they should have restructured and kept”

Wp28: “he was a fan favorite”

Williams: “he was a great team leader.”

Williams is toast. buh-bye, crybaby Jay.

He cried last year on the radio when he got demoted.

    To anybody that would listen.

I still think it's up to him. Does he want to stay here and take backup money, or does he want to look for more money elsewhere.

I don't think he will find it. Not a lot of teams looking for overpaying a whiny veteran DE.

the funny thing is that Williams said that in Jordan's interview. Granted they were probably standing close anyway, but Williams kinda dominated the Rucker interview as well.

Only thing Rich didn't ask was about Rucker's contract.

But who's to say whether Jay would have known about Ruck's contract anyway, since he'd have answered.

Too bad we could try to trade Williams to Miami for a conditional pick or player. Miami is interested in him.

    I read that on profootball.com.

I didn't get that they wanted him so much as they would take him for cheap money if he's available, because Burnett is asking for too much.

They might give up McClown for him. Trade a whinny ass DE for a whinny ass QB.

Not really though. He won't get as much as his schedueld to makein FA. Particuarly as time goes on. That's why his agent is knocking on our door. If we wait until after June 1st, and on into early July, then we can make our move on Williams. The only jobs left at that point are league minimum jobs, and on only a few teams, with a lot of guys looking to break in. Then we offer him the minimum. Take it, or take a release and risk it.

On a side note, when did a 5 year deal with 5 million dollars up front in signing bonus become a minimum deal? That's what the Ravens offered Adams, and Adams is saying he hasn't signed with anyone because he won't sign a "minimum" deal.

I hate to tell these guys, but that's a good deal. If he's hoping to hop on a team that makes some June 1st cuts just to sign his ass to an 8 million dollar bonus, he better call somebody.
