Lets give Bright a chance to show what he can do, before we screw up all the good work we have done of lowering the Salary cap.

AN Old COOT WILLING TO GIVE BRIGHT A CHANCE !!!

Agreed Coot, I would only make the deal say for trading Jenkins for example. if the guy can give some depth at DB and WR. He's worth a look.

    Browns, Johnson agree to terms

    By TOM WITHERS
    AP Sports Writer
CLEVELAND (AP) — Wide receiver Kevin Johnson agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension Saturday with the Cleveland Browns, three days after the team gave his agent permission to shop for a new deal.
Johnson, who was eligible to become a free agent after this season, agreed to a new deal worth $13.85 million just before the Browns’ preseason game against the Detroit Lions. He also will receive a $3.5 million signing bonus.
The four-year veteran has been the favorite target of quarterback Tim Couch. He was the Browns’ top offensive weapon last season with 84 receptions for 1,097 yards and nine touchdowns.
This was the second straight year in which Johnson was involved in trade rumors. On Wednesday, the Browns granted Johnson’s agent, Tom Condon, permission to talk with other teams about a deal for Johnson.
Johnson, who earlier this summer turned down a three-year, $10 million offer from the Browns, expressed disappointment that the team didn’t seem willing to give him a deal worthy of a premier NFL receiver.
The Browns drafted Johnson out of Syracuse in the second round of the 1999 draft. He led NFL rookies in both receptions and yards that season, and has led the team in yards receiving every year.

Robert Tate would be a nice fit now.
