Woody Durham to retire

you have me beat by a couple of years, but he is the only voice I remember....Tar Heel sports just won't sound the same.

 

His best days as a broadcaster are behind him but I'll miss him. I know a lot of ABC fans didn't like him but he was one of the best in the business for many years.

For many Carolina fans, watching a Carolina game on ESPN meant turning off Vitale and listening to Woody. I remember when he was the sports anchor for Channel 2 in Greensboro before his UNC gig.

I guess they might go after Mixon. I'm sure many Panther fans won't be sad to see him go but he has always been a better color man than play by play.

And they may not offer and he would probably say no but they should try to get his son Wes who does Ga Tech and Falcon games. He would be a great replacement.

 

As a State fan, I always enjoyed tuning in to Woody when the Heels were losing (you could almost hear the pain he was experiencing).
That said, he was excellent at his job.
I do hope they go get Mick Mickson back ( I hate him as a Panthers announcer..always wanted Rosinski back).

 

I heard that Rosinski is getting the UNC job.
