    Preacher or Pastor?

Just a few scriptures to show the significance of women in the new testament church.

    1 Corinthians 16:19
19The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla[a] greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.

    Romans 16:3 (New International Version)
3Greet Priscilla[a] and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus

    Acts 18:26 (New International Version)
26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

Seems to me that Pastor / Preacher can be one in the same. Obviously these ladies served many roles during the time of Paul's ministry.

    God Bless
    Rob

It really does not say that any of those women ever preached though. You will be hard pressed to find anywhere in the bible where God used a woman to spread his word. There are plenty of examples of women in the bible who did important work but not in the role of a preacher.

    No it isn't.

The bold illustrates the sound logic used in determining the 4 gospels.

So by that article the New Testament has existed in its current form since 367 AD.

I meant that I would not reject her for preaching. That was the question RobMill asked. :)

They could have spiritual gifts of hospitality and evangelism or testimony to fulfill those verses and not be pastors. That isn't to say they weren't extremely important to Paul and to the spread of the Gospel.

So you hold males above females when it comes to preaching the Word? I am shocked people still feel this way!!

Most people I know who hold this position do not believe that men are superior to women. It has nothing to do with the merits of either sex. It is based on bible passages. Assigning certain roles to one group of people and different roles to another group does not mean one group is superior to the other, just different. I would argue that it is very difficult for a single man to be an effective pastor, regardless of his bible knowledge or his ability to speak well. The pastor's wife is just as important if not more so than the pastor in most churches.
