OK so I just got in from the HP gig. And so we traded...OK I can go with that. We got a LB, okay I can deal with that. We got an undersized LB - uhh, okay, but why Fields then? Our problem is strongside.

But ok...then we don't get Saleem Rasheed. What's the problem here? he's a playmaker. Witherspoon is a good player but damn, both Allen and Rasheed are better LB by my estimation.

At any rate, I feel like Witherspoon will be a starter for us. He could, I guess, become an Armstead type player - but not an Armstead level player. He's basically a nickel linebacker who hopefully turns out to be more Tommy Polley and less Hannibal Navies.

Needless to say, we can use him. Wth Navies, Jackson as UFA next year, and Towns probably not fitting in at OLB, we needed a long term player like this. I just figured we'd see what we had at LB for a year. IT's like picking DT - I'm OK with it, we'll need one. But we have other needs on board right now and we have other players we could have picked.

I'm a little miffed that Dorsett Davis went as I feel he'd be a great pick at 100.

Minus his size, which earmarks him for the weakside, he has decent measurables. That's what kept me from going ballistic. He had good workouts, and a decent 2000 season.

He just could have been had a round later IMO. If we get Echols, I'm OK with it.

  3. Mag. Mag, Mag. Shame on you. Why on earth did you invite Collin to the party?

  10. Since none of us are NFL scouts or GMs, one way to measure our player knowledge is to manage a fantasy team. I wonder how the Panther helmet Collin won in last year's CFFL looks on his shelf? Oh wait a minute. He didn't come close to winning, did he?
