Richard Childress (of Nascar) has built a nice winery in Davidson County. I stopped by to check it out. It really is beautiful and a nice place to visit. If you get a chance it's worth a stop.

I have been experimenting with different varieties and flavors. My question: What is your favorite wine? Red? White? Other?

Beer is my favorite variety. I am partial to the 2005's or later. Room temperature is not to appealing to the pallete.

I can certainly relate. Drank beer since I was 15 but quit about 5 years ago. Developed a taste for wine but honestly I know very little about wines available in our area.

chateau morrissette up on the Blue Ridge Parkway into VA has a great winery to visit, and their music festivals are cool if you're into laying around in the sun and drinking on the side of a mountain. That said, I just drink whatever, I don't care much about this wine versus another. Drank a lot of native wine when in Italy, but usually got what the wife was getting.

We visit the parkway often. Laying around in the sun and drinking on the side of a mountain suits me to a tee. The wine has to be good.

Couldn't tell you great wine from good wine, but always have a good time. They have jazz and blues fests, more typical winery visits/tastings, etc

nobody asked? I think gutter knew about it, too. I don't know if any of the wineries in the Yadkin valley do anything like this.

Is it muscadine wine? All the NC wine that I've seen/had is made out of muscadines. It's ok, but not my fav. I'd rather have regular grape stuff.
