OK, cool. I wasn't planning on partioning it anyway. Sweet.

So, if I want to make it the primary drive, I just need to make it bootable, right? It is an SATA and I'm having to run it from a PCI card, but the bios sees it OK, but I have had trouble getting it to be the primary drive in the past.

What's the command for format bootable?

You don't have to worry about that with the XP setup. Just follow the dialog. And if it asks you what filing system to use, choose NTFS. You might want to let it do a standard format, but if you know the drive is OK, you can choose the 'quick' format. You'll see all this as you go.

Thanks - I was gonna go with the full format anyway.

If this drive is fried, I'm gonna be pissed.

Plus, I just found out that my old hard drive extended warranties expired

What does that have to do with an operator or placing a call?

Let's forget all that, shall we? And you can keep the dime.
