    The deal is done

    I think this immediately makes them a SuperBowl contender

    Williams for a first (25) and a switch of fourth round picks. There's also a variable pick that's worth at least a 3rd to New Orleans next year, and up to a first round pick.

    Since you'd be wondering anyway.

  3. I dunno, Sly...they still have Jay Fiedler.

    Well I say they'll be a contender but if you look at the personnel it reminds me a awful lot of tampa bay when everyone thought they would be great. I bruising RB with a fast 3rd down back. A solid but not spectacular QB. A great D.

    Fielder = Dilfer
    Williams = Alstott
    Minor = dunn
    Gadsen = Johnson
    Chambers/McKnight = Green
    Taylor/Thomas/MAdison = Sapp/Brooks/Lynch

    Really isn't a bad one. The 2003 pick is the testy one. If he lights it up one year, though, and pulls up 1500, then they have two #1s in him. What happens, then, when he starts complaining about contract? What happens when he gets frustrated with South Beach and social anxiety disorder?

    To be honest I'm just glad he won't be tearing it up against us anymore.

    I would say New Orleans got the better of deal but Miami does improve its chances for a Super Bowl run.

    Damn the AFC East is gonna be one tough conference. Best in AFC IMHO.

    Best in NFC is NFC West.

    >>Fielder = Dilfer

    I gotta think some of this was the bad offense in Tampa. Hard to hit anyone when you got 1 or 2 recievers going out.

    >>Williams = Alstott

    No comparison. Williams isn't just a bulldozer. He's got the entire game.

    >>Chambers/McKnight = Green

    Chambers is a lot better than Green.

    With that said, the fin offensive line ain't what it used to be.

    And this is a great deal for the Panthers, as Mags said.

    Williams is responsible for the last 5 losses we have suffered against that team.
