Bunting is a great recruiter but as a Head Coach he just plain out sucks. That's the gist of the whole thing. Players seem to love him but he just doesn't seem to know what to do with them once he recruits them. i had hoped that hiring the guy from Fresno St as Off Co-ord would perk up the offense but it doesn't look much better than the one last year (or previous years for that matter). The defense has been bad pretty much the whole time Bunting has been there. I hope if Bunting does get fired they don'tjust look at alums this time too. Probably some damn fine coaches out there that just need a shot but with Baddour doing the hiring that's probably wishful thinking.

Thank God basketball practice starts in less than 4 weeks :)

a great recruiter? his recruiting classes have sucked ass for the most part. His best class was 2003 and they are on the field now. Just look what they are doing. Maybe im missing something.

If Cowher is coming to State, I don't think we could beat that :(

I'm guessing that you don't know that most of those small school coaches actually fail and get fired when they move to a big conference program. Hell, look at Dan Hawkins who was the top small school coaching prospect in the country, and he made Colorado worse than it already was. Plus Bunting has coached in the NFL, which is an extra advantage both in terms of experience and recruiting. Honestly, I think he's a fine head coach, he just needs an easier schedule and a better defensive coordinator.

Expectations, mostly. State boosters spent a crapload of money getting the facilities upgraded recently, and Amato has actually done worse against the ACC than Bunting.

Dude, wtf? How could you not know that the offense has been great this season aside from Dailey's turnovers? Seriously, that's like the last of Carolina's problems.

Uhm ... his recruiting class this past year was in the top 25.

You're making fun of State fans, right?

First guy I thought of too. Timing is off though. You would need someone to coach a year or two unless you think Cowher really is gone after THIS year.

It is good for an ACC school. We're not the SEC. *sigh*

Have you not seen that he bought a house in Raleigh and his family is living there for the rest of his dauter's HS, or heard reports that he has gotten kinda worn down with the pro life and continual cheapskating by the Rooney's?

No, unfortunately - I'm not kidding. I'm not saying it's a lock, but it also wouldn't suprise me one, little bit.
