Will John Bunting be fired after this year?

    Div. II West Georgia held Furman to less points (24). Actually, Furman only scored three less points against W. Ga. and Jacksonville St. together than it did alone against UNC.

    It was the performance many Paladin fans had been waiting to see from our QB Renaldo Gray. He played hurt and then left the Jacksonville St. game, and the next week went only 4/12 for 23 yds. vs W. Ga (though that was a ball-control game; we had 226 yds rushing). We were starting to worry that the loss of Ingle Martin was really going to cost the team this year. But 20/27 for 310 yds. against a I-A team has eased those concerns.

    I agree whole heartedly, and will in basketball. Carolina football can hardly beat their way out of a wet paper bag right now and may never be able to be more than a 6 win a year team. This year may be a 1 win team with the schedule they have. I hope that isn't true and one day those 1-AA teams are in town for a payday in exchange for a whoopin'. Maybe they should've scheduled Western Carolina for a blowout instead. The Cats might've rolled over for the Heelz. I'd say one more year for Bunting.

    I wonder how Amato possibly being fired will affect Bunting. Will Carolina try to look "superior" by not "hastily" dumping their coach? Will they be more inclined to fire Bunting so that they can beat State to the better candidates? Whatever the case, there's nothing good about college football in the Carolinas right now.

    At least on the I-A level. App State, Furman, and, believe it or not, Elon are looking rather strong this year in I-AA.

    thats the root of this whole thing. there are plenty of good coaches out there. they dont have to be alums. they dont need big time credentials. all they need is the ability to coach. look at what some of these guys do with these teeny tiny programs. their kids play good football. buntings teams play shitty football. its time to show him the door while we're down.

    Is there any particular reason you think State is more likely to fire Amato before Carolina fires Bunting? Other than media influence, I mean.
