He was afraid to beat you? Twice.

UNC's rpi does not need UNCC to be among the best out there. The problem the last 2 years has been winning games, not having a tough schedule.

What quality NC teams does UNCCH play out of conference?

Did UNCCH play Wilmington when Blizzard was there (that's an honest question, I don't know)?

Yes, he is scared to play us, especially in a regular series, because if we beat Chapel Hill, or even play them as close as we have been, then it hurts his recruiting.

That's the same reason us killing NC State lead to them not wanting any part of us. I'm suprised UNCCH will still play Davidson.

There are about 800 threads on this stupid topic and it seems that just about every time one of you 49er fans join up you have a tendency to start spewing the same crap.

What other quality schools from NC play? Other than y'all - and that is a fairly recent development (last 10 years or so) - there really aren't any consistently good programs that aren't in the ACC. And Dean had a rule not to play any of them for one very simple reason. If he played one, then they would all like a shot. He broke that rule when Randy Weil was the coach at UNC Ashville and since then UNC has been scheduling teams from the NC system, but only playing one or so each year. It's UNCW's turn this year (taking place in Myrtle Beach for Felton's 'home game', and no we did not play them when Blizzard was there.

There are 16 schools in the system - although I doubt that school of the arts has sports teams - so how many of those 15 schools should Carolina play each year?

Apparently many UNCC fans feel that they deserve a yearly shot at the Heels. They don't. Period. End of story. They do not bring anything to the table. Make a couple of Final 4s and then maybe we could talk.

As for hurting recruiting, when was the last time you heard a player say that his short list was UNC, UNCC, and somebody else? There may have been some, but I can't recall them.

Davidson was scheduled by Doherty as a favor to McKillop. You know, the guy who gave him his first college job after he had been working on Wall St. for a few years.

Ummm, Jason Parker, who Guthridge didn't recruit until very, very late in the process. And we all know how "someone" screwed that up in Chapel Hill. (His father also played a huge role in messing that up too.)

So that includes the Georgia game, right? Regardless, that was a good win for Winthrop.

I wonder how long Marshall is going to be there?
