unless something crazy goes on, i think that we'll see smith start the season and give way to foster early on.

Well, I look at it two ways. Smith is a capable workhorse, and with incentives, he could get paid hansomely. Even without incentives, he's making a bit more than Huntley.

But the thing with a rookie back is often you will know from the start whether they have it or not. Foster will get ample opportunity to win the job, to see if he has it.

I feel the same way. It's like we have 2 1st rounders. Getting Foster was like a gift from the Football Gods after enduring so much.

Great story. Smith helping with Foster and everything, sounds like some of those "freindships" are developing. Are they going to be roommates? The RB position seems more like a WR's position these days in the terms of anothers guys success can help you. With the rotation of RB's, if one guys starts having success, it's like it opens holes for the other guy too when he's in there. I think we have the best RB situation now than we've ever had. Now lets stay healthy.

Panthers | Foster Impressing; Could Vie for Starting Job? - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
13:55 PT: According to ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli, Carolina Panthers rookie RB DeShaun Foster has some Panthers' officials so impressed they're already figuring he may beat out Lamar Smith for the No. 1 job by the start of the regular season.

Why not start both of them and give the defense something to think about. Last year when goins turned that reverse was the happiest moment of my life unfortunately george was too dumbassed to use a running game.
