Why isn't "football player" a major?

It pretty much is their major. Down here they are all put into the Speech Com major and although they are required to attend class everyday (Coaches come by and check their name off to see if they are in class), but from being a lab partner with a pretty good football player 2 years ago, I can say that in the case of him he got the test with all the answers and all he had to do was look over the test, memorize the answers and he would get A on every test. We have Kinesiology or whatever P.E. is called and that's about as close as it gets to football.

 

When I went to the University of Miami, there was a minor called sports management that you could get. It dealt with the business aspect of sports, and was full of athletes.
