I said in my post that it was the extreme other end of the argument. This daughter's moral beliefs is that pain pills are bad and therefore took them away from her mother. Now her mother is living in a living hell. I would like to see her get her pain pills back.

 

Glad we got the 3 day thing straightened out. But yeah, I think there are a lot of christians that thinks there is some kind of virtue to suffering

 

Paul told Timothy to take a little wine for his stomach ailments. Certainly if Paul condoned alcohol consumption when done for health reasons he would not object to pain pills.

Maybe you ought to ask your aunt about this verse.

 

It's not so much my aunt as it is her daughter which she is totally dependant on now.

And the daughter is of the mind set that the wine spoken about in the Bible is unfermented. Alcohol is bad bad bad.

This woman's father, my aunt's husband, was so strict. He would not let this daughter take phys ed in school because she was suppose to wear shorts, the kids were forbidden to watch TV. If he found out they went to a neighbor's house and watched TV they got a 'whoppin' that would land him jail today.

 

I got the aunt daughter mixed up. Whichever one is in control needs to re-think their position. Sometimes in the bible wine does refer to unfermented juice but in other instances it does not. In this case it was fermented. It was being used as medicine. A lot of medicines today are alcohol based.

That level of chronic pain is a medical condition, that can and does cause its own damage. That kind of pain can literally drive a person insane.
