i never said he wasn't a nice guy...b/c i don't know him personally. i can only judge him by his on-court persona, which is that of a complete A$$HOLE.

he may indeed be a classy guy, but to say that he has more character or morals in his little finger than dean has in his body is ridiculous. why don't you do a little homework on dean....you may find that he helped integrate a whites only restaurant in chapel hill, has helped to bring to the forefront the racial bias in standardized college entrance exams, and countless others.

as for morals, ever hear of the controversy with him not allowing his players to be Playboy All Americans?

i really hate it when people make posts on topics they either know NOTHING about, or only know one side of. it says alot about what an arrogant attitude you have....but then again, you did go to dook, right?

Deep down any Duke apologist who would look beyond the fact that Dean Smith coached at UNC would see that Dean Smith and Coach K are very similar. They gave a shit about the players they put out there, and they ran a great clean program. Maybe with a few years under their belt, these fuck nuts that beat up these two coaches will realize and appreciate both of them. Dean Smith should be on the Mt Rushmore of NCAA coaches as should Adolph Rupp, Alba, and Coach K. If your hatred of another school based solely on bullshit reasoning "they smoked or cursed" or they wore the wrong shade of blue skews your reasoning then your a fucking idiot. Both of these guys are what makes college basketball in the ACC and overall great

I often wonder if anyone who 'hates K' has ever listened to one of his post-game press conferences. Unlike Jim Calhoun for one, K consistently praises the other team, and their players. He's nothing BUT class in those situations, especially when Duke loses.

Great points as usual PP. It's ironic looking at Duke/UNC. It's been a complete reversal from the 80's. Used to be Duke making FF's while UNC went out in the Sweet 16, now it's the other way around. Used to be UNC winning the ACC Tourney, now that's changed. Used to be a lot of things, there are tons of similarities between the program Smith ran and the one that K commands.

However, Coach Wooden would like to know if he can be on your Rushmore?

My opinion of K has very little to do with the color of blue. He's a great fucking coach. No doubt about it. I just think Dean Smith is more the type of man I'd want my son to play for or to grow up and be like.

I think K is a little fake and a little polished (like A-Rod), but as noted, I think he's a good enough guy and a hell of a coach. I do agree that Dean strikes me as a better man. He just seems so genuine about the way he cares for others.

    UNC 124-96 Duke

28 games =14 year stiff arm on Duke IF they swept twice a year.
