Why doesn't UNC Football have any fan support?

I'm watching the game and the stadium is empty as hell. You gotta good team. Better than the shit I've seen this year at State. Why is there such a lack of support?

people don't care about local college football. Hell, people around here don't care about football, but they'll cater like hell to the idiot Redskins/Dolphins/Cowboys fans.

I think a lot of it has to do with they haven't been as good in recent years. I'm watching the game at home for what its worth, but I think that's hurt them a little. Then again admittedly UNC football has always taken second place to the basketball team, but that's sad because like you said they aren't bad this year. With a little easier schedule this year they could be close to a top 25 team by now.

I'll admit that UNC is better than I thought they would be, but unless they beat Maryland, this is a team that isn't even gonna go to a bowl. I think they are better than their 5-6 record would be if they lose to Maryland. It seemed pretty full by the end. I noticed at the kickoff there wasn't anyone in the endzone that McGill scored in. I think UNC will finish 6-5 though and make another bowl.

i was there...and it was almost full. you must be referring to the endzone seats where the students sit....they didn't roll in until about 12:30...so it looked empty for a while. BC didn't bring many fans...so several seats in their section were empty.

Wo wo wo there partner. It looked bad on TV. Don't defend apathy. You gotta good team, you should have more support than that. That's all I was saying.

Damn, you must be bitter to be worried about the support of UNC football, seems like you would have enough to worry about with your own.

    :twocents:

Since when has any ACC triad team/school worried more about football than basketball?

You gotta good point there. My point was- when you go to CF it's packed and we're not good as your team... but when you see Kenan, it looks at 1/2 capacity. I think that's odd.

And I'll take a good football program over a good basketball program anyday. Most people I talk to, they feel the same way. I'd give up all State's BBall championships just for one Football championship.

Chris, are you serious? Were you born and raised in North Carolina? There is no doubt that football is second rate to basketball in this state. I don't know any State fans who would take back that Lorenzo Charles dunk. My friend who goes to UNC said it is sold out most of the time unless they play a team like Maryland or Georgia Tech. Teams that aren't that good or not that bad.
