Why does ABC want me to stop watching Deperate Housewives?

I really and truly despise the regular networks, ABC in particular. I dig the Desperate Housewives show. However I am thinking that I cannot really get into watching anymore because of thier total whacked policy of showing 4-5 new episodes and then going into reruns. Do they think they is how they grow the viewership? Last night, I go to watch the show. One of the few that I really do not TIVO and will actually watch some commercials. Bam, it is a rerun. I am about fed up with them. I stopped watching Sopranos and dropped HBO because of the inconsistent nature of that show, and here I am about to just take Housewives off the rotation.

    Anyone else feel like that?

man, that Seattle loss has you steamed still....

It is frustrating, but thats why I watch it off the DVR. If I seen it-I delete it.

Yes. The Sopranos were/are especially annoying. I've quit watching the networks. Besides, I can get 24 hours of Law and Order from TNT - so fuck NBC.

No Tivo. No DVR. Nothing. Fuck em. I'm not going to work at watching a TV show.

I have moved beyond that loss. Right now I feel like a lifelong Seahawk fan because I am totally dismayed with all the Steeler bandwagoners. I am seeing WAY too many cars dressed up in Steeler gear driving around this town. If I wanted to live in Pittspuke, I would have slit my wrists a long time ago. Go Hawks!!!

Betcha the ABC producer is a freaking Steeler fan and that is even more reason to delete that season pass!!!

The time off between Lost episodes is also frustrating, but I'd rather them take their time and deliver quality and creative entertainment than get a fresh episode of CSI every week.

It about become the standard with the TV serials now. Lost does it, Smallville does it, Supernatural does it. They basically do their November new shows... take a break at Christmas... do some January new shows... take a break in Feb. and finish off the season in March and April.

Well that may be so, but Fox is able to pull uf 24 without taking breaks and the writing does not suffer. Just seems like a risk in this era of so many programming choices. DVR is probably what saves most of the shows I watch. But even that has its limits

That's because they don't debut the new seasons of 24 until January. Basically if you move all the November stuff into Jan. then you can cut down on your rerun time.

The networks created their own mess here.

The networks have shortened the seasons. There used to be 24-26 shows in a full season. Now there's almost a month less - more in some cases. See Galactica, Battlestar.

The season used to start in late October and run into April or May. That meant only 3-4 reruns in a 6 month span - usually around Christmas and after the sweeps periods.

Then Fox came along and started with November season openers.....then summer seasons.....

So what you have is less shows strung out across more months. And a lot of waiting.
