Why didn't Peppers get credit for any sacks or forced fumbles? I thought when a hit caused the ball to come out you were considered sacked, but if not at least you'd get a FF. He did that twice, right?
No sacks, no forced fumbles. Just three tackles.
Hell of a game anyway, and Rucker added another sack to co-lead the NFL with Roosevelt Coleman.

Also Morgan's 5th in the league in tackles, tied for 3rd in picks at LB. Mark Fields has the LB lead in defended passes with 7 (4th overall defender), Morgan's tied for 5th of LBs with 4.

Whoever compiles forced fumbles smokes crack. You can just about ignore those stats, becuase they never get it right.

The first fumble, I can;t remember if Jake actually went down, but I thik he did. The second one, Peppers just stripped him, so that would not be a sack. The first one, not sure why it's not. Should be.

yeah. I hate to see him go to all that effort to make two potentially game winning plays and yet come away with no extraneous statistics. His play has far outreached his stats, and that's also pushed Rucker up a notch. He's within a few games of his last year's best, and hell, he's still facing the best rusher.

Still, that Peppers got some hurries and two should-have-been sacks against Leonard Davis is fucking huge.

I tried to watch that battle at times. Loved the close ups.

Peppers beat him a half a dozen times on speed rushes out on the end. When Davis got him engulfed, he threw him around like a rag doll. Great battle. Speed vs power.

I did like the one play where Peppers goes in on a pass rush, and they run the sweep draw, and he ran Anderson down for a 3 yard gain.

I know one of those that Pep knocked loose was ruled an incomplete pass. Otherwise, he should have one sack and one FF, if I remember correctly.

refresh my memory on the sack- i dont recall when that occurred. he DEFINITELY forced a fumble and his play cant be measured by a stat sheet. I hope he doesnt burn out this year.

ACtually, I meant to say a sack and 2 fumbles. Plummer had the ball at his waist on the first on they ruled incomplete. He was moving the ball forward, but not in a throwing motion...more like an evasive manuver. I think it was in the first quarter, maybe second? That should have been tallied as a sack and a fumble.

The second forced fumble was the one that wound up a complete pass, and the back breaker to boot!

gotcha- pepp looked like a child in front of davis on the replays- but he worked his arse off and really gave it his all. cant ask for more.

yeah, Davis took Peppers on a lot of run plays. Still, he's a guy who has the feet to play LT, the mind to match, and is already an above average RT. It's not like we're talking about some third string OT for Dallas.
Of course, we're not talking about Larry Allen either - Davis will have an off play occasionally against an ultra fast player like Peppers who's still just strong enough not to get pushed off his rush. But it's still damn positive that one on one he was still getting around Davis.
