No kidding. But what that article doesn't address is the fan base's frustration with why Sendek does what he does. Nobody knew what in the fuck he was thinking in a lot of game situations. The lack of effort, the time-outs in the middle of transitions, the time-outs to set up the winning play with the result being the standard offense, the inability to figure out ways to get Ced Simmons the ball in the whole damn second half of the season, the half-long scoring droughts. Shit like that. Sendek never opened up and tried to justify himself. I can understand not feeling like he owed the fans an explanation, 'cause I'm like that myself, but you can't just run out of town without meeting them in the middle.

That article makes the fans sound awful, but what Herb do to answer that criticism? Nada.

but what did you expect him to do? Come out, hold a pres sconference and say something like "sorry we didn't win enough games to satisfy you"? He only has to answer to people when he breaks the law. No doubt he had been hearing this crap since he got to NCSU (I was there when he did get there, so I know, and fans wanted him gone after yeear 3). This time, after 9 post season trips in 10 years (no question he was frustrated himself by not getting further in the tourney), hearing all the crap that he had heard for 7 straight years..Arz. St. calls me and asks if I want to go to the desert? I saw "What was that flight number again?"

Lou just reported that he was offered and accepted the job but had to resign do to his drug problem as well as his ever expanding roll in fighting the Global War on Terror.

We all HOPED he would open up a little bit and let us understand him, which is why I got off his case a couple of years ago. He didn't do that enough.I just don't think it's all about the fans. He didn't help his situation any.

I think at this point State fans will be unhappy with whoever takes the job. I think any recognizable big names have no interest in the job and Fowler is going to have to take an up and coming coach from a small school and hope for the best. The treatment Sendek got from the Pack faithful have poisoned the job for a lot of people that might have considered it.

This is all BS. The treatment of Sendek hasn't poisoned anything. As for the media, they have always picked on State b/c most of them went to UNC and majored in a very difficult field of journalism...sarcasm. Although they have turned out some very good reporters, most of them still have that UNC arrogance that most people don't like. That's what has happened with the media lately and us State fans just have to deal with it. Be ready for a new coach to be named in Raleigh next week. I can almost guarantee that. Then the media will be all over it and how bad of a hire it was. As for us wanting Sendek out in year 3, damn right we did. What did he do? Nothing. Then he takes us to the almight NIT. And can't win that. Then he gets us to the sweet 16 once. His top achievement of all. That's sad. Please, all you UNC or Duke fans, answer this honestly. If the role was reversed would you have been happy with his postseason record of MAKING the NCAA tournament? I don't think you would have. Duke fans almost had K run out of town the one year they had a losing record, when his "back" was hurt. And we have seen what the UNC fans do when they have a losing season re: Doherty. So, where was the media then? Why didn't they climb all over Duke and Carolina then? Well, as I said before, they just want to call State out for whatever they can. And now they have reason and are taking full advantage of it.
