sorry....how many coaches were offered the UNC job, and turned it down....not how many sent in resumes...

I'm taking a guess here, because it's been a while, but Doh probably wasn't UNC's second choice. So in that respect, wouldn't it be fair to say that more than one coach turned them down?

I really don't care, myself. But I know that at least four coaches (seemingly) took the time to listen to what State had to offer. I don't see how that makes State or Lee Fowler look foolish.

honestly, I don't remember another coach being offered the job....i remember brown and karl being interested, even campaigning for the gig, but UNC never bit, at least publicly.

Plus the outcry was for a Carolina guy, to keepo in in the family....Doh turned ND into a legit program quickly, he was young, looked like he could be the coach of the future...wouldn't surprise me if in fact he was their 2nd choice...plus Dean could keep an eye on him (at least at the time of the hire).

Naw, we didn't look too bad with the Doherty hire. Now the Doh fire and Torbush/Bunting Fiasco, Badour made us look bad. Not as bad as NCSU looks right now, but pretty damned bad.

I just don't see how offering the job the 4 different people makes them look bad. If they had offered a mid-major and they took it immediately, they'd 'look bad' for not going after a top coach. Fuck all of you.

Me too. At least argue with some sense of logic.
