and here it is....State's exact problem. You are not Duke or UNC, get over it...and be happy with getting to the tourney every year. Losing Sendek, you'll be lucky to do that from now on.

And that is exactly the problem we have with UNC fans. It's so very easy to look down from the bandwagon and tell us what we should be happy with. It's so very easy to sweep Doherty under the rug because 'now we have Roy'. We don't have the luxury of being fans or alumni of a university with a bunch of Dean Disciples waiting in the wings, so you'll have to excuse us for going out and having to find a coach. Who knows, maybe coaches having nothing to do with Carolina would have turned down Baddour knowing they'd be working for him and knowing the yearly expectations in Chapel Hill.

I'm not particularly happy with the way things have gone, but I'd rather have a guy come knowing he really wants it as opposed to a guy that would come only if the money was right. That's why I didn't want Calipari or Lavin.

i didn't sweep anything under the rug regarding doherty. that whole situation was a mess...plain and simple. state fans seem to forget how much smack they talked during that whole process....so carolina fans are just returning the favor. if you can give, be prepared to take.

Math, you guys have a problem for real. Word is out and it seems that some in the coaching fraternity are pushing a bit of a solidarity deal about the NCSU job. Not some media bash, just what I'm hearing.

I respectfully disagree with you. This was about the fans who griped and complained that their program was not good enough to compete with Duke and UNC when in the last, what, 10 years, NO ONE has consistently beaten EITHER school.

NC State is in the wrong place at the wrong time--Duke and UNC are Uber-Powers in ACC hoops. I have no problem with wanting to be great, but you have to walk before you can run, and State was already on a steady jog when they (the idiot portion of the fan base) got him to run....right out the door.

there is a village crying out for their lost idiot. Please go home.

I did not attend UNC, Duke or NCSU for that matter. I don't have an ACC axe to grind, so I will politely excuse myself from your broad brush painting of the media in the area.

Duke fans weren't running K outta town when he was out with his back issue (there were other issues, but they all started with the back--and don't ask me to name them, cuz I won't). He had 2 Nat'l titles before the bad year when Pete Gaudette took over and fell on the sword. K wasn't going anywhere. Herb took you to the NIT 4 of his first 5 years. how many post season games (not counting the Les Robinson Invitational - ACC tourney play-in game) had State played in the 5 years before Herb arrived? Then its 5 straight NCAA's, and still no good. Can't beat UNC/Duke...blah blah blah.

44, you qualify as one of the idiot fan base. Recognize the situation. The Valvano years, while wonderful with anecdotes and a National Title, ultimately hurt the program, and it took Les to start digging them out, and Herb to get them back above ground. You and your fellow "Wolfpack Fans" griped enough for Herb to say, "Screw these ungrateful people...I'm done."

Enjoy your next coach....for the 15 minutes you will like him, before turning on him for whatever the reason you decide.

Math, just so you know, in all of my "State fans that suck" rants, you are not included. I know your heart bleeds for the Pack, and frustration is your right, but I do not beleive you wanted Herb gone to set this thing in motion to this proportion.

Some of the things Sendek did struck me as bizarre as well, but it's one thing to complain about your coach and quit another to call in to radio shows constantly and demand for him to be fired.

Sendek was a quitter. If he coundn't take the heat of coaching in the ACC and along side Duke & UNC then he doesn't have what it takes. He didn't deserve to get fired and he didn't. He quit and ran away.
Wake & Maryland haven't done too bad.

Nowhere close to the same situations. K was already a near legend by the time he as in his 9-10 year. Sendek, not so much. He was a suspect game time coach who quit becuase of what fans said on message boards.

I know. We're good. Even after 4 years of being on this board, I can still get a button pushed every now and then.
