Your reply is to call a bunch of people that you dont know nerds?

I foolishly expected something real from you. Too bad.

When I went to Charlotte, I saw the school, from classroom to bball court in all its flaws. To carry the analogy - early in the morning, no makeup, without it's gut sucked in and it's tits pushed up and out. And somewhere in that 4 years I saw some of the hidden beauty that made me fall in love with and become a fan of the school. From a sports perspective, it's really easy for a few people to stand high on a pedestal and yap about how we havent been to the past 20 Final Fours or whatever, but what I've seen is the incredibly impressive rise of an athletic program that had left it's bread and butter basketball program for dead. If you look in the media guide, it says we lost to a friggin' drugstore in the early 80's, until you find out that there really is such a thing as Eckerd college. Starting with Jeff Mullins, we've enjoyed a rebuilding process that has put us in the position we're in now: a nice, right-sized facility, gradual attendance growth, membership in a very good conference, one of the best coaches around, and the ability to recruit the kind of players we haven't had on campus since the days of the Final Four team. I'm privileged enough as a grad to be in the loop that lets me know that in addition to success we've had our fair share of quality individuals both in uniform and in our athletics office. The school itself has enjoyed a similar ascendecy in the same time period. I know because I've lived through it, good and bad. All of that makes me very proud to be a Niner.

How does that compare to your puppy love Brain? Are you really still rooting for the Heels because they were on your first pair of underoos?

WHEN did I say they were a 3rd world program... anything I've said against them was only used in defense of UNC... you can't show me ANYWHERE it says otherwise

yup they were nerds... its apparent... no one would hang out with them... they were made fun of in their inner circle... and because of that they built a resentment of the other students not included in their little group... and the school as a whole... I'm not judging them as nerds... and I guess I could use a little better word than nerds, but its the only term I know of that fits the criteria... basically they enjoy things that were "outside the norm" and because of that were made fun of or not included in the "cool group"... that doesn't make them less as people... and if they had more pride in themselves that would've never been a problem... but that's off the basketball topic and I'm gonna try to get this back there...

I sat up when I was a child and watched UNC basketball... I cheered as a child when they won the national championship... I cussed and fussed over all the teams that could have been... I defended their shitty football team when it was down... I stood strong through the 8-20 season and I STILL remain a Tar Heel fan... and while you as a hipocrit who says its wrong to cheer for one team you love over the school you attended while yourself going to 2 schools then yours isn't an opinion I value on this topic... see if you were true to your word then it wouldn't matter that you had problems at UT but rather its "the school you graduated from" ... those were the words used if I'm correct... as a matter of fact if that were true you should have more of an affection for UT because you gained a higher knowledge level there... you have an empty argument... the others using that argument have more base to it

its sad that these people are making me dislike the UNCC... I enjoyed my time there and I considered them one of my favorite schools... maybe not my favorite, but when UNCC fans come off this brash it makes me want to be a less a part of that "group"... its an embarassment to the University that people would judge other based on sports fanfare

How in the heck do you figure I have an empty argument? I am a UT fan and I'm taling about the folks who DO like the school, not those shallow people like you Brain.

The nerds stuff is ridiculous. It's actually funny since I do know those people and one of them is in congress now. Real unpopular guy he is.

Oh that is just bullshit. We had acrappy ass year when everything fell apart and that brought our average down. Show me a 5 year span in UNCC history where they went 51,116,6,27,15

Yeah, don't know that I would be so quick to brag about mediocrity. Or, in this case, slightly below mediocrity.

Oh - and tat is the worst stretch we've had in the past 40 years. Let me see your BEST stretch - and let's compare them.
