Who will be the 12th ACC School ? ?

wow, after getting back from the beach, i saw this thread. And, i saw one of them niner boys as the last poster. I said to myself "this can't be a thread with them bashing everyone who doesn't like charlotte." guess i was wrong. kinda feels like charlotte.com all over again. At least some of the people who didn't post on charlotte.com can now know why we refer to a good bit of these guys as "fortywhiners."

So, i let my fiancee read some of this yesterday. She's a niner grad. Basically she said you guys were a bunch of losers for your reasoning behind people who like college teams. She read me a post (because i've wasted so much time in the last two or three years reading the whiner cry baby/chip on the shoulder threads) that basically said if you went to one school and transferred to another that you HAVE to be a fan of the new school and cut all ties. What a crock of shit. She gave her sister as an example. The girl went to state, went to all their basketball games, particpated in all kinds of school stuff. Loved state. Decided she wanted to be a nurse though. Guess who has nursing? UNCC. She transfers. She still pulls for state over uncc. Are you numbnuts gonna tell me that she's a lowlife for that? Good, i'm glad none of you are that stupid.

Then i thought about myself. I've been arguing with carolina fans since i was in 6th grade. With your logic, i shouldn't be able to have an opinion unless i'm going to that school. So, what, kids can't like college sports until they are in college? Once again, pathetic.

Granted, i applaud you guys for sticking with your alma mater. There's nothing wrong with that. I for one went to uncc for 1 year, dropped out, and am pretty much done with them. Went to all the basketball games the year i was there. Went to some before i got there, and went to some after i left. But, i'm done cheering for them. When you are brought up in north carolina, you're brought up in ACC country, and that's how it is for the most part. If you guys would drop the chips on your shoulders, maybe you get more fan support. I know it's pretty pathetic, but the wars i've had on these message boards have completely turned me off from uncc athletics. At the same time, i'll never act like i'm better, or duke is a better school than charlotte because i cheer for the basketball team, pretty much because i didn't go there. If that's the fans you hate, then yeah you've got some beef. But, for the most part, there's only a few of them on this board.

what don't you understand? I am bashing one thing: that is if you graduate from a university, root for them #1.

If you graduate from UNCC and you root for the Heels over UNCC head to head (which has happened twice in 5 years), you are one big dumbass.

This applies to any college anywhere not just a UNCC vs. UNC. If you were raised a Clemson fan your entire life, but you graduate from Furman, I would expect any reasonable person to pull for Furman first THEN Clemson (in a head to head matchup). I can't believe you guys are sick enough to argue anything against that.

I got no problem with Brain pulling for the Heels, or their football, but when UNCC laces them up with UNC, he needs to be wearing green (if he's an alum) or I consider that absolutely PATHETIC.

 

Metro, what don't you understand? UNCC is a crappy school that doesn't inspire that kind of devotion from its alumni.

I can't argue with that. apparently Brain didn't get that memo on loving your Alma Mater when he graduated. There are alot of these types out there, that I and many others, wish had not even attended UNCC. we don't want them or need them if this is how they are gonna act once they enter the real world. I would rather have rabid 49er fans like myself and the guys on our message board who love their alma mater.

See, there's nothing wrong with pulling for state in savios case. it's not like he couldn't get into state. maybe uncc had what he was looking for after he got to school, or was cheaper, or for whatever reason. Sometimes you can't help where you go.

And for your second statement. Before i call you a complete and total fucking idiot, let me get this straight. The guy had an acc championship ring. As in he played on a sport in the acc that won an acc title? And, he's supposed to take that off because he went to charlotte?? That's one of the dumbest fucking things i've ever heard. Who agreed he was a dope? All the lame ass people that think like you? of course they'd agree because they're fucking stupid too.

How many people did you hate at uncc? Halton wasn't that big, and it was never filled up except for cincy. You guys must have known alot of dopes.

 

i won't edit, because i mean what i said for the most part. Although i just read that you were a pitcher, i'm guessing for uncc. And i'm guessing you meant the team thought he was a loser. That's fine, i probably wouldn't wear the ring around baseball practice or anything like that. But, i'd still wear the ring to school because it's something i'd be proud i was part of. That's being respectful to your former team.

you lost all credibility when you brought your wife into this discussion. If you and your wife think it is cool to root for another school over your own alma mater. fine. I disagree. I am a loyal guy, and I bleed the color of my alma mater. Nothing wrong with being fans of other programs, but your alma mater should come first in a "head to head" matchup, any other agrument is just silly.

The funny thing about Brain and his types, if Charlotte were to advance deep into the NCAA, they would be the first ones on/off the bandwagon saying they're Charlotte alums.

The TarHeels are my team first and foremost, but if UNCC was deep in the NCAA tourny hell yeah I'd pull for them, but if they ran into UNC I'd hope they'd get bitch smacked right out of the brackets.

 

you have no room calling someone a retard after that quote above. nice to have you as an alumni. glad you support your alma mater. I got some white out you can borrow to delete that "charlotte" on your diploma so your wanna be ass has a diploma that says "unc."

and if you would go read any of my post jerkoff, you would see that I said it is cool to pull for anyone (including Unc-chapel hill), but head to head, you need to pull for your alma mater or you are scumbag....which you freely admit.

 

With Miami now an ACC member you think the Conference USA folks would spend more time worrying about their very existence then who people pull for. Louisville is gone and USF, and Central Florida are rt behind them IMO.
