yeah, i think #14 and gamble may move us to, say, #23 with no trouble.

I dont want to start an "Is Quinn worthy" debate but i do find it interesting that not only do we have the Fox/Weis connection but now we also have the Davidson/Weis connection. Its gonna be interesting to see how our interest in Quinn develops. We could be very very serious about making a move to get him.

    Good one.

Anyway, I am one of those who very seriously doubts that we'd move up to get a quarterback. Moreover, it would be an utterly stupid move regardless of your opinion on Quinn. As San Diego found out, having a high salary drafted QB can force you to make personnel moves that you don't want to, since it's a cap crippling move. You're better off not having a top 5 pick at all unless the guy you get is a perennial All-Pro.

I doubt it, personally. And I doubt a personal interview really puts a lot of weight on Quinn - may have been a good chance for the guy assigned to scout QBs, possibly uninterested in others there, to talk to a guy he wanted to get taken care of.

It's not as if they don't scout the top 4-5 guys if possible. There's no guarantee any one player will be gone, and if he's there, you don't want to make an uninformed decision. Either way, Davidson, Weis, and Brady Quinn's mother and preacher doing anything short of drugging Fox and making the call themselves probably couldn't make this happen.

If we move up to the second spot in the draft and don't take Calvin Johnson, then I would be upset. This guy seems like a HUGE player in the NFL for years to come, and that would allow us to move Keyshawn to #3 and take a lot of the attention off Smitty. And as I've said for a while, QB is a position we need to address, as I sat in Charlotte at the Pittsburgh game and new we had two HUGE glaring weaknesses...quarterback and back up quarterback. Maybe they can address that through free agency or in the later rounds. Plummer might be a guy to go after and draft a guy in the middle rounds to groom. But with our history of drafting QBs I don't see us getting anyone spectacular through the draft.

With all of those Weiss connections it should be easy for him to tell the team that Quinn isn't worth it.

Staley got abused all day at the North South game. He allowed numerous sacks.....2 of them he didn't even touch the Nebraska player and Leak/Palmer both got rocked from behind.

    I saw this on : http://www.nfldraftforecast.com

Carolina Panthers - Every where Brady Quinn went, Panthers personnel were sure to follow. It's no secret Carolina will be looking to upgrade their quarterback situation sooner then later, but they are making it painfully obvious how intrigued they are with Quinn. Word around the Senior Bowl was that those Panthers brass who were not watching Quinn were spending much of their time priming potential trade partners for a draft-day deal to land the young quarterback from Notre Dame.

Why is he rated the number 4 OT? I agree McFly. Any chance he'd drop to second round? Pick him up then......???

Why would we take Quinn? How many QB's turned out to be pretty good deeper in the draft (Brady, Romo, etc.)
