    Did Andy Griffith ever sing it?

    Not that I know of---I got everthing I could ever find that Andy recorded and I have never ran across him recording it but Burl Ives recorded it and I can't find his either so maybe they out there somewhere.

    That's a Randy Sparks song. Randy was a co-founder of The New Christy Minstrels. The lead singer of that group was Barry McGuire (Eve of Destruction). All those folkies used to hang out and swap songs in the NYC area in the early '60's.
