who should be the tar heels' next coach?

I disagree. I think Lutz would be as good as anybody in the ACC now except for Coach K or Gary Williams. Carolina's only gonna go with a superstar though and expect superstar results fast obviously.

 

Dick will just fuck it up again going with the popular choice instead of the right choice. We'll be here three years from now I'm afraid.

I don't know what Doh did cuz i wasn't there, but I have a hard time believing he was more intense than Bobby Knight.

 

Tom Crean is a pipe dream. I dont think they could pay enough to take him away.

Maybe he'd go to a midwestern power, but Coach Butthead is way too smart to step into that hornet's nest for even change.

Roy, Tubby, Larry B, in that order.

Lutz wouldnt take that job if offered. There's no way. He might take the Clemson job for the right money though.

Bill Self denies interest in North Carolina job

CHICAGO - Trust him, Illinois coach Bill Self said. There's "nothing going on" with North Carolina.

Self's name was one of several that surfaced Tuesday as possible candidates to replace Matt Doherty, who resigned under pressure.

"I don't even want to say. I don't even know if I would or I wouldn't. There's nothing going on with North Carolina, trust me. It is a pretty good job, though."

The Illinois board of trustees boosted Self's salary to $900,000 this year and extended his contract through April 2008.

Self also received a deferred compensation package that would pay him at least an additional $550,000 if he remains head coach until 2008.

 

one coach that I hope stays away from Chapel Hill is Tubby Smith. Nothing against his coaching abilities but if he's already discouraged over his rough treatment at Kentucky despite his success why would he want to come to UNC and put up with more of the same.

Biggest obstacle Baddour will face in finding a decent coach is himself. What coach wants to step into the UNC presure cooker with a total asshole for a boss?

 

UNC fans are nice compared to Kentucky fans. Some Kentucky fans wanted Smith gone after he just won a Nat'l title. go figure. At least UNC does use some common sense when wanting someone gone.

 

Let Dean do the hiring. He will make a much more wise decision than Baddour. Baddour needs to be the next one fired. If it ain't Roy, let Dean decide who it will be.
