I still think Shaka Smart is your best option.

Dang. That was quite the State slam. Sneaky.

I'm not sure the personality is a fit, but I would be okay with that. Like I said, there are a few of the younger guys out there that I would endorse. Jay Wright, I like.

I don't see it as a slam at all. There is a lot there to be considered. State does have some hurdles.

He signed a 10 year contract with Butler 2 days after Purnell abruptly left. I think Clemson would have shown serious interest if they'd had more time.

Well, he basically said State isn't a premier job. Most State fans seem to think otherwise.

State fans know it can be, not that it is. However, there are the delusional fans in every fanbase.

It isn't now, but it has been in the past, and can be again.
College hoops success is 100% coaching. State's down now, but those two old coots down the road are pushing 50-60, so it won't be too much longer until the playing field is equal again.

It isn't. I would put the Georgia Tech job ahead of NC State. Regardless with Stevens, I don't see him leaving for anything other than UNC, Duke, Indiana, Syracuse, Ohio State, etc. Everything I've read indicates he just really loves coaching Butler.

Wonder if the same was said as Dean got up in age? Chapel Hill seemed to do just fine after he retired. Don't necessarily believe that once Williams and K retire State will somehow magically rise to the level of those two programs. I'd imagine those two will just reload coaches like they do players and keep on keeping on. There may be a small window, but don't expect it to remain open long.
