The only way that you will get really good players to Memphis is to cheat. That's been pretty well conclusively proven.

Valvano showed that you can build State into a power without cheating.

Visits to Reynolds used to scare the shit out of me.

Without doubt he will be interviewed, it was all arranged before Shaka and the Rams lost.

Same could be said about UK and UCONN and other programs. Valvano was around when the ACC was the best thing around. Now the ACC has coaches leaving for the likes of Depaul and Missouri. State's still a good gig, but there's a reason why the school is looking for its third coach in what is it, 6 years?

The ACC is not as balanced as they were but they still have 2 of the top programs in the nation in Chapel Hill and Durham. Maryland has taken a step back and Wake and Georgia Tech have plummeted. Even BC and Klempson are less than they were.

Totally agree. ACC bball has gone downhill, except for the obvious two, since the expansion. Miss the round robin.

Part of it has to do with the merry go round in coaching of late. I still can't figure WTF Wake Forest is doing. Georgia Tech should a Top 25 team every year with their profile and ability to recriut.

That this for what it's worth.

Shaka Smart To Remain VCU's Basketball Coach

Oh well, for those that don't like Gregg Doyel.

Shaka Smart turns down N.C. State

Did Marshall interview this past weekend as reported in the papers? If so, I think he will be the next coach if offered,,,,,,
