White Stripes

    Tonight I watched 'Top of the Pops' on the BBC here in the UK. If you don't know, it's a 30 minute 'singles' chart show. I don't normally watch - it's usually made up of crap boy bands like Westlife, crap girl bands like Atomic Kitten and crap 'dance' bands like N-Trance. But tonight was the 2,000th edition so I made the effort, and was devastated by White Stripes (playing 'Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground' live). Breath-taking!

    something about that band I do like.... I like the raw sound they have... cool band.

    Out of all those bands that sound exactly alike i.e. The Vines, The Hives, I kind of like the White Stripes. There, I said it, I feel better. Cause I really hate all those other bands.

    I do like them, there is something different about them.

    Nice little marketing ploy with the red and white. The lead has that Mark Bolan angry artist thing going on.

    And their sound is raw and revvy. It's real rock and roll. And I haven't heard any band sound come out that makes me say "that's real rock and roll" in a long time.

    "I Fell In Love With A Girl" is that one. 2 people - 1 guy on guitar, 1 girl on drums - make up the band. Pretty good sound. I like it. I also like The Hives.

    It's about time something "new" came out. Actually, it's recycled 60s, but new considering what's been out for a while.

    White Stripes are great.

    Hives suck ass. As do the Vines.

    Go get Queens of the Stone Age's new CD. It's better than any of that crap.
