    P, Freddy Garcia
    C, Ben Davis

    Seattle GETS:
    C, Miguel Olivo
    CHARLOTTE KNIGHT OF Jeremy Reed
    Minor League SS Mike Morse.

    I like it but don't like it. gave up too much in Reed..Reed was the top prospect in the Sox system....Like it cuz Garcia will be a solid arm for that rotation that has desperately needed another starter.

    Thoughts?

    well, I wonder if that kills the Atlanta/Chicago trade rumors which would include Ortiz/Jones for Maggs/couple minors leaguers?

    doesn't garcia's contract run out this year? if thats the case, then i think its a bad deal. however, all in all, it kept ortiz and jones in hotlanta, so i guess i sorta like it.

    i would think so. they got their arm they were needing. probably go elsewhere now if they decide to upgrade in the outfield.

    That #5 spot needed someone else and Schowenweiss hasn't been real strong the past few weeks. I hate to see Reed go, I really, really hate losing him.

    especially with rowand doing nothing in center. that was his spot a few years down the road.

    Now that Reed is in Seattle I can hope he doesn't turn into the star everyone thinks he'll be. Schoenweis hit the DL on Friday, they called up Diaz and he won on Saturday. We did need a 5th starter....if the Sox in fact pull that atlanta deal, we win the whole thing....but we'd give up a bunch to do it.

    the white sox's fifth starters were 0 and 156 with an 18.25 ERA in the past 162 games....well, something close to that anyways.

    I for one am VERY glad to see the fifth starter spot filled up with a solid arm.
