There's no doubt that what Christian Laettner did to Timberlake in the Kentucky game was uncalled for and he should have been penalized with at least a T but from what I remember he didn't even get anything. The only difference is Vick had so many off the field incidents and on the field incidents and was on thin ice before that incident.

As for being kicked off the team you are correct. Both should have been kicked out of the game plain and simple.

You remember wrong. Every source I have found said he was T'ed up for his actions.

Probably doesn't need to be said, but I don't think it's that plain and simple. The refs didn't either. It really wasn't a serious or malicious stomp. Bad taste, revealed bad character, blah blah. Getting kicked out for a gag? Naa...come on.

Even the UK player laughed it off.

A stomp or punch, hit or miss, you should be kicked out of a game.

And you can spin whatever way you want, it wasn't a joke.

I watched the game live and have watched it since then. It was definately taunting at the least, and could have been worse.

Just saying that it was a kick/stomp and he should have been kicked out of the game and even you should know that one sly.

It wasn't a kick/stomp any more than an after whistle push is a punch. Did his foot come in contact with the guy? Sure. But a players hand comes in contact with a player when they push them. That doesn't make it a punch. Neither deserves an ejection. A T is and was correct.

I watched the game too, live. I've seen it since as well. I'm telling things as they are/were, take a look at your fellow tarheels for the spin.

Here's the deal. Laettner dunked, and was fouled. A UK player flopped beneath him (GASP I THOUGHT ONLY DOOKIES FLOPPED?? Nope, we learned it from watching UNC players). Laettner looked down, his foot was already in the air from the play. It was NATURALLY coming down right on the UK player, he grinned, and lightly stepped on his chest in jest. If he wanted to stomp, he could have broken a rib. The refs saw it as taunting, Laettner was T'ed, and the game goes on.

To be the greatest game in college bball history. Between 2 of the top 4 winningist programs in the country, neither named UNC. We won, Laettner goes down as the most clutch player in tourney history, we win 2 in a row, we're ranked #1 for the whole year.

I can see why it bothers you guys, but you're not going to rewrite how it happened, no matter how many responses you type up. Take off YOUR fucking glasses for a second and view the situation as it happened.
