I live near Hickory and work in Lenoir. I am not close to Charlotte. I used to go to the YMCA in Hickory when I worked in Hickory.

I didn't read all that stuff boo put up but heres what I know.

Its not the fat you eat that makes you fat, its the sugar you eat. I never count calories or fat. I count sugar. It all has to do with how sugar consumed makes your body produce insulin, which in turn tells your body to store fat. You want to produce less insulin and more glucogon I think its called, because thats the stuff that tells your body to BURN fat.

I haven't cut out carbs completely, cuz if I do I go NUTS. But I am watching what I eat. Lets take a 20 ounce bottle of Sprite of example. I love this stuff and its all I ever used to drink. Well it also contains 65grams of sugar. Now to figure out JUST how much sugar that is, divide the total grams by 4. I'll do it for you...thats 16.25 teaspoons of sugar in that one bottle of Sprite. SO I asked myself, would I sit down, being the sugar lover that I am and eat 16.25 teaspoons of sugar? Even I, the sugar lover was shocked at the amount.

Any kind of exercise you can do will be good for you. Unless you want to be Mr Universe someday, anything you can do is better than nothing. Working in the yard will help. Walking is the greatest though. If you can jog, then jog. If you can't take the pressure on your joints, then get one of those trainers that are no impact. I have one and I love it. I can do it anytime, rain or shine. Also, don't feel like you have to workout 30 min straight. Its just as effective if you have to break it up into 3 10 minute periods AND it will burn more triglycerides if you do it that way. Just be sure you do something everyday. You can't look at it as a diet/exercise program, you have to look at it as a lifestyle change. It sucks, but ya do.

    Good luck.

this is probably true. this time around stay with your program. you said earlier that it was hard to make yourself go to the gym........it is and for those times you go when you dont feel like it, it will all go away in about 5 minutes after you trudge your way through the door. just put your shoulder to the wheel and get to work. thats all it takes.
