WOW! The kid looked awesome. Nice hands and the body of a bull. Where should he go considering he is a rookie and playing on a team that has never ranked higher than 28th in any TE statistical category during the Fassel era.

Certainly behind all the veteran stud TE's, so i'd guess not that high.

I'd want RB, QB, WR first, at least. That'd probably put him between rounds 4-6.

well, they've never really had that talented a TE over time, and often had to use a FB like Way to compensate.
That offense is hard to judge...sometimes it's a conservative running attack, sometimes it goes into deep passing fits, sometimes it lays down and dies. Given the way Collins can be about his tight ends, I'd say he can be as valuable as any TE, but I'd probably not pick him up before the 7th. Then again I tend not to value TE greatly...I usually overpick on backs and then have to use luck at WR.

Shockey should be looked at as an elite TE. At times he looked like the #1 option in their attack. TEs don't usually produce bigtime points (unless they are Tony Gonzo) but Shockey can put up numbers that should AT LEAST move into the #2 spot behind Gonzo.

I think Franks comes back to earth this season. I will watch Shockey the rest of the preseason. If he plays like last night I would chose him behind only Gonzo and Pollard.

He is in my top 3 at this moment. (Over Walls)

I don’t think the Giants will score that many TDs, especially in their division. However, the kid does play like a faster version of Mark Bavaro and that alone is worth ranking him #7 on my TE list. He’s probably going to get more than his share of his teams red zone opportunities.

I'd definately have him rated in the top 4 or so. Franks is a big red zone target for Farve, and I think he'll remain so. Sharpe should have a good year in Denver. But for upside, Shockey looks damn good. Got to love how he ran over and past defensive backs.

Mark Bavaro was a nice target for Phil Simms. I think Shockey will have to play a couple more preseason games, before he reaches Bavaro's statis.
