Did walmart even bother opening the box or looking through the little window at the serial number when you took the old one back?

nope...they dont scan the serial number either during check out, just the upc code. you could switch the whole box out if you wanted. Those morons at wlamrt dont give a shit. I just wrapped it back up the plastic and was really carefull getting the sn sticker up so that it looked good when i restuck it. I just barely peeled the sticker back far enough to get to the bolt. Didnt give two shits about the rest of the thing since it was covered by the box. I didnt even put all the bolts back in it. fuckem. Walmart did open the top of the box but I had the crap still in the packages so that was as far as they went.

sounds like a plan, I might just keep the whole new xbox, but I'd kinda like to keep the shit I've got saved, so I might just swap the dvd drives.

I have the Thompson drive and have had about 1 disk error in the 8 months since I removed my remote control doodad. All the new games are running just fine. (knock on wood).
