Where did my CD burner go??

I was having problems with my CDR and what straighten my mess out after week of trying to get it straight was I changed my settings of the IDE channel. 1.Right click My Computer, click Properties.2.On the Hardware tab, click the devise manger button. 3.Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers Branch. 4. Right click the specific IDE Channel item for which you want to configre DMA settings(depend the CD-Rw is on Primary IDE Channel Or Secondary Ide Channel,If you are not sure, Please click Secondary IDE Channel first.If the problem still exists after all the steps are finished then try the primary IDE Channel,and click Properties.5On the Advance Setting Tab, Drop down the Trasfer Mode Box and select PIO Only.NOTE: There are Two Trasfer mode boxes in the dialog. Change both to PIO.6 click ok.7. Restart Insert CD and see if this want help
