Delhomme (undrafted, who had a good run),McCown (3rd round, journeyman),Matt Moore (also undrafted) and now Hunter Cantwell (guess what? undrafted) and NO number one draft choice next year.
Fox and Hurney do not rate a quarterback ,like tight end important piece ? Maybe that is the reason we do not have winning seasons back to back, it takes more to run and stop the run.

Franchise quarterbacks are not only found in the first round. Franchise quarterbacks are not required to win a superbowl, but they help.

For every "franchise" QB drafted there are maybe 20 guys making big money for a few years and producing didly- Joey Harrington, Matt Lienert, Alex Smith, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Cade Mcnown, David Klingler, Ty Detmer, Heath Schuler, Jeff George, Elvis Grbac, Trent Dilfer, David Carr, Tony Banks, Todd Marinovich, Tim Couch, Andre Ware, Tommy Maddox,
Tommy Vardell and Kyle Boller. all guys who were it in the draft....name me franchise guys from the early 90s on 1st rounders that have played at least 3 years and make all the fantasy queers ogle at their stats....

Flacco Ryan and Rogers havent played long enough to judge, they look ok but so did Collins the first full year he started

also when you say franchise I take it to mean an elite qb with gawdy stats
ill give you Peyton, Mcnabb, Palmer, Rivers and Cutler
the point is that its a high stakes crap shoot and losing it is very costly
