Trappists, dubbel, and trippel or the krieks and frambois?

don't confuse me for a connisseur. I'm readily admitting ignorance of the Belgian scene, but trappist is damn decent, not that much of a fan of kriek and lambic (I think it's the fruit added, because the wheat-added fruity type flavor I can dig), definitely dig the white variety (akin to the hefe weissens) and able to get down with the generic ambers as well. I'm totally clueless to specific brands most of the time. Just do what I can when I can.

Belgium is awesome if you like beer. Literally thousands of kinds.

I'm like you - the kriek and frambois can be a bit much for me, but having one on a hot day is pretty refreshing. I like the wheats with a hint of fruit flavor to them as well. Blue moon is great in the summer too.

I have brewed cherries, sratwberries, a dubbel, and a trippel. I would like to try a witbeer. You should also try a kolsch. We brewed one and it was kickass. You don't add any fruit to it, but the yeast gives you a citrusy end. Great for summer time!

That would be a half and half and the guiness floats on top of the harp's...if you want a black and tan you would use bass and guiness.

Only bad thing is the drunk to hangover ratio is way to high with that shit.

Currently drinking a bottle of Bombardier - "Fruit, rich nutty malt and peppery hops dominate the palate, while the big finish has creamy malt, sultanas and bitter hops", says the label. www.bombardier.co.uk

Next will be a bottle of Morland's Old Speckled Hen, then after that Fuller's London Pride.

In the meantime, eating a slab of Wensleydale cheese.

And I thought my buddy Dave had some ripe farts... I need you to drop some bombs on him for me, he's fierce.:fart:

    Me? I don't drink anymore.

Of course, I don't drink any less either, so it's cool. :xyzthumbs
