I think they've written another prequel series, starting with Jihad, then The Machine Crusade and The Battle of Corrin, where the Harkonnen-Atriedes split occurs.

Good deal Wossa. You should love this series even if you are not a Fantasy fan. Finishing the third book now.

I always have too many books going at once--can't seem to help myself. At least one novel or short story collection & various nonfiction works on a variety of topics. Recently I hit overload & decided to re-read an old favorite to "rest": Watchers, by Dean Koontz. Now I'm reading Cat on a Hyacinth Hunt, a "Midnight Louie" mystery (light but amusing), a book on North American wildlife, a fitness book (NOT those stupid-ass South Beach or Atkins rip-offs), a collection of erotica by women writers called Herotica 6.

There's a new book group here that does biographies, so I'm making a list of biographies that interest me. The group's first selection doesn't grab me, but it has got me thinking about other things I want to read.

Damn! As one of my sweatshirts proclaims, "So many books . . . so little time!"

I just got Morgawr. I read it all in one night, night before last. Good read. Sometimes Brooks puts a little too much detail in those finishing chapters even though they're still good, but I liked this one.

I statrted the new Trilogy last night, High Druid of Shannara. Just read a couple of chapters, but looks like it will be good.

I also got 2 of the Stephen Hunter books, the Master Sniper and Point of Impact. Will probably read those 2 and the finish the Shannara book this weekend. Also got the first Terry Goodkind book Wizard's First Rule to try.

Should keep me busy for at least a week.

This thread is adding to my overload! Oh well, just have to roll with it. If I didn't have to work for a living, I might actually get to read half the stuff that interests me.

Forgot to mention before, but I just recently finished The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver. LOVED it--a brilliant & moving work. I'm anxious now to read her other work, especially her essays--all recommended by friends who have read her stuff.

I'm into COMEBACK by Dick Francis. A mystery that concerns a string of racehorse deaths, and a murder. All the horse deaths died while in one particular veterinarian's care.

Just finished Intensity by Dean Koontz. Excellent book.

Starting Ghost Story by Peter Straub. Heard it was a good one.
