I thought this one was better than The Da Vinci Code, though I enjoyed them both.

Angels and Demons was more of a page-turner than The DaVinci Code, and I did enjoy it more. But now that I've read both books, I've decided that Dan Brown's writing irritates me more than it entertains me.

So now I'm going back to one of my old favorites. I'm currently reading Cardinal of the Kremlin by Tom Clancy. :)

How so? If you enjoyed it, I would assume that it was entertaining you in some way.

There are three things that turn me off from his writing.

    1. In both books, he's declared things as "fact" that aren't.

    2. He's sloppy with his homework. If he's going to use non-fiction settings for his stories, he needs to get the non-fiction part right. His contexts are usually about 80% accurate.

    3. He's got a bias against the church, based on misunderstandings and exceptions. He has what I would call "Nietzsche-itis".

His storylines are quite good, and he is captivating -- I'll give him that. If he was more thorough in his research, or adjusted his writing style to mask his bias against the church, I'd probably be a fan.

Just finished Dan Brown's Digital Fortress, not bad, not great but not bad. Started The Club Dumas by Arturo Perez-Reverte last night, it is the book that the movie The Ninth Gate was based on. Not bad so far.

great book - I zipped through it in no time. As I got near then end I was thinking Keyes had wrapped up all the story lines so there would be no Book Four but once I was through I realized he left all kinds loose ends to keep the series going.

Can't wait for the next in the series - meanwhile I am looking for another good book to start
