Just finished Hunter S. Thompson's last book, Hey Rube. Knowing he committed suicide it is fraught with omens of doom. He talks about , "the big darkness". yikes...

If you like Epic Fantasy, this one's hard to beat. 9 books. Excellent. Getting ready to go buy the last one today. Sword of Truth Series. Nytdreamer turned me on to it.

Hung up on Patterson, in the last week or so I've read, 3rd Degree, Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, and the Lake House.

Working on Jack and Jill now.

A friend I share books with sent over 14 or 15 of his books. I like the Alex Cross series.

damn did it really take me over a month to read that book? I could have paid for it with the overdue fines.

It was alright - but I have read too many of these Cussler novels. Same ol same ol.

And there was way to much "gushing" going on.

Just finished today on my lunch hour. The suspense and storyline were pretty good, but the theology was irritatingly bad. Too bad, really. Aside from that, I think I really could've gotten into it.

Well, it's SUPPOSED to be fiction, although I think Brown claims some basis in fact.

But I understand where you're coming from. I can suspend disbelief for a lot of things when it comes to entertainment--books, plays, etc. But it's much harder to do that, & just enjoy the story, when I feel MY beliefs are being misrepresented. Very few things that I've read or seen with paganism as a significant part of the story represent it with any basis in reality, & that makes it hard for me to enjoy it.

Practical Magic was an exception, though (both film & book). It was wrong all over the place; but it was still fun & entertaining.
