Finished Deception Point by Dan Brown.

A friend of my wife's gave her a collection of John Grisham novels. Probably a dozen or so, I'll probably start on one of them next.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince.

When I finish that, I'll start The Da Vinci Code. :)

Just started 'The Historian'. It's already creepy.

summer time is always a good time for a Dirk Pitt novel

    edit - oh yeah

The US publish date for George RR Martin's "Feast For Crows" is now November 8th.

I'll still believe it when I see it.

I kinda got the idea after the last Pitt novel that there would be no more. Is it any good?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through The Roots of Desire: The Myth, Meaning, and Sexual Power of Red Hair by Marilyn Roach. It's mostly a cultural study of society's perceptions of red-headed people--something I find quite fascinating :) She also goes into quite a bit of scientific stuff on the genetic & evolutionary roots of red hair.

Lots of interesting details keep popping up, such as the fact that reds are the hottest-selling shades of hair color.

good so far. I just started it since I got tired of waiting for my daughter to finish Harry Potter.

So far Dirk is actually Dirk Jr, and his sidekick Jack ( not Al) -- kind of cheating I guess. Cussler is writing the exact same stories - just using the next generation now.

Just read 'Moon Shot' about the space race. It was interesting for me because it gave me a time line of events I didn't really know a lot about. What cracked me up was when they told stories of practical jokes the astronauts pulled. Zany stuff like messing with Alan Shepherd's car to make it go slower. Those crazy astronauts.
Started reading 'All Families are Psychotic' by Douglas Coupland. He is the guy that wrote "Generation X", which I thought was great. This book is looking decent so far, but I'm barely into it.

And Dirk Cussler is writing with him. I looked it up. I can't even bring myself to read the other series he's been writing.
